The Different Types of Cloud Computing Servers

Cloud Computing refers to the use of a cloud computing virtual server to deliver applications and storage resources over the Internet. The main advantage is that on demand provisioning means that the user does not pay for an on-demand resource; rather, the user simply requests the resource and it is instantly provided to them. This reduces deployment costs because there is no need to buy more hardware or software. Cloud-based services are usually offered through the web. There are also hybrid clouds where some of the resources are provided by the client (on demand) and some resources are owned by the web provider (on demand as well as long-term).

Cloud-ATA provides three services to its customers: High Performance, Queue Management and Security. Customers require no more than five computers to host a cloud computing server and thus, no hardware costs. Furthermore, users do not have to maintain their own networks and server infrastructure, thus Cloud-ATA can turn on instantaneously and provide excellent response time with large capacity. In order to achieve optimal performance, the customer’s hardware must be highly optimized for optimal latency, throughput and VPS.

Cloud-ATA offers three types of hardware for each level of service: managed servers, cloud servers and embedded servers. Managed servers are hosted on the infrastructure provided by the cloud provider. They are pre-built and pre-clocked to meet your specific needs. For instance, if you require high-end graphic processing power, they are available. Similarly, if you require robust database servers, they are available.

On the other hand, cloud compilers are fast developing software which can efficiently route requests per CPU, memory, hard drive and input and output device. Requests per CPU means how many requests can be processed in a second or how long it takes to process one request. As a result, high frequency servers are used for applications requiring large number of CPU requests per second. On the other hand, embedded servers run directly on the CPU and utilize the hypervisor to allow multiple OSes to co-exist on the same hardware.

The third type is known as public cloud or public virtual servers. Here, business and end users can rent or purchase hardware on the open source platform as well as benefit from extensive support including security, monitoring and management. In short, this lowers hardware costs as well as management overhead. Furthermore, the customer only pays for what they use, therefore, there is no need for management overhead. The biggest advantage is that users can quickly scale up or down their workload without affecting the availability of other resources. However, this type of computing offers limited capacity, as well as poor performance, so it is not suitable for large businesses with huge workloads.

Lastly, we will discuss the latency and response times. Latencies refer to the time taken to receive and process an request. They are typically in the range of one to five milliseconds and can vary significantly based on factors such as server load, networking conditions and the quality of the underlying hardware. Response times are also an important issue to consider when running cloud services because if a system is not able to deliver expected response times, the user will not be able to accurately estimate their CPU consumption. As a result, many businesses are moving away from infrastructure vendors such as Dell and focusing more on vendors with more responsive systems and higher response times.
